Class Description
This special Abrakadoodle USA parent/child class is a highly recommended first Toddler Art Class. Twoosy Doodlers is a unique process art class for toddlers in Singapore, where they develop their sensory skills as well as fine and gross motor skills. They learn about color, texture and more while experimenting with new, engaging materials.
Twoosy Doodlers develop:
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Language
- Social skills
- The ability to experiment while having FUN!
Twoosy Doodlers are going through wonderful exploration and rapid skill development – so don’t wait!
Here is some information to keep in mind regarding the Twoosy Doodler classes:
Our classes are designed to offer several fun activities!
- Because most Twoosys have short attention spans, we have lots of short activities including, scribbling, pasting, tearing, printing, painting, singing, moving and much more. Do not be concerned if your child’s attention wanders. Twoosys are very curious and have difficulty staying on task. This is normal behavior. If your child leaves the group, please stay with your child to make sure that he/she is safe. Try to encourage your child to return to the activities. We will do the same.
- Twoosys are asserting their independence. Don’t be concerned if they do not want to do what you want them to do. This is a stage in which they are beginning to see themselves as a separate person. For example, the children may not want to wear aprons. This is normal behavior. The important thing to focus upon is their enjoyment of the activities. We use washable materials but keep in mind that activities may be messy.
- Twoosys are rapidly developing an understanding of language. Most Twoosys have better developed receptive language (understanding of language) than expressive language (ability to express language). We will use a lot of language with the children. You should, as well. Talk about colors, shapes and the activities that are going on. Ask questions and seek simple responses.
- Twoosys are ego-centric. They are more likely to see themselves as an individual than as a member of a group. This is normal behavior. Do not be concerned if they have trouble sharing or participating in group activities. At this age, they are more likely to be involved in parallel play (playing alone) than cooperative play (playing together). They also may copy behavior.
- Twoosys learn by repeating a task. It is one of the ways that they learn and perfect their skills. Don’t be concerned if we repeat activities on occasion. It’s the way your child will become more proficient.
- Twoosys are more concerned with the process than the finished product. Twoosys like to try new things and repeat actions. They may have little interest in what they have created. This is normal.
- Twoosys love having your participation. Your role is to participate in the lesson, to make sure that your child is safe if he/she wanders, to encourage participation, to help the teacher with the activities, to help your
- child to clean up and to have fun with your child. Please do not do the artwork for your child. Also we don’t want the children to be involved in hitting, screaming or negative behavior. That goes for adults, as well.
- You will begin to see your child develop in fine motor skills, language and school readiness skills as your child participates in the Twoosy Doodler program.
After the trial, we hope that you will continue to enroll in our programs. We always offer new educational experiences for your child! Please let us know if you have any questions.
