What's Doodling at Abrakadoodle?
Abrakadoodle
Models Masters' Art Techniques for Children
At Abrakadoodle, we want to
inspire your children to reach over the rainbow and
discover the joys of art and creativity. That's why
we partner with great contemporary artists, Artists
of Distinction, as
part of our instructional
programs. These artists
share their style, creative vision and serve as experts
to Abrakadoodle.
"I am very proud
of our Artists of Distinction program," remarked
Abrakadoodle's Founder and CEO Mary C. Rogers, MA. Ed.
"These creative luminaries are mentoring children
in Abrakadoodle's classes by enabling us to connect
their unique artistic approaches to our curriculum in
a way that is age-appropriate and engaging." Rogers
said.

Artist of
Distinction," participated in Abrakadoodle's
1st Annual Conference in May of 2005. He delivered a
keynote address and also led hands-on sessions on his
artistic techniques. Mort Solberg paints in oil, acrylic,
and watercolor and his techniques range from photo-realism
to total abstraction. Mort's work is represented in
such collections as the Smithsonian Institution, National
Gallery of Art, and many private and public collections.
"Watercolors do
not have to be a difficult medium for children,"
Solberg said. "Working with Abrakadoodle is very
gratifying because so many children can learn about
my style and technique in a kid-friendly way."
What's
in Your Child's Art Portfolio?
Abrakadoodle Sets a New Standard
for Multi-faceted Art Education

Abrakadoodle is pleased
to pull another fun and innovative art program out of
its magic hat with Portfolio
Kids. Portfolio Kids is a series of
unique art classes designed to fill a child's portfolio
with creative works, such as painting, modeling and
digital art. These classes for children ages 3-12 provide
themed instruction over the course of eight lessons
that use different mediums in art.
"I am really
excited about what Portfolio Kids offers children,"
commented Rosemarie Hartnett, co-founder of Abrakadoodle.
"We expose students to a variety of artistic
styles, engage them creatively, and send them away at
the end with a portfolio of their own creation."

Portfolio Kids
delights children with intriguing themes.
In Media
Mania, students create unique art using
tempera, modeling compounds, acrylics, oil pastels,
digital photography and more.
In Time
Machine, students move through time with
art projects ranging from Greek sculpture and cave painting
to pop art.
In Stampede,
students are engaged in creating personal stamps, printing
with feathers and textures and Japanese fish printing.
"At Abrakadoodle,
we want children to truly discover the wonder of the
arts with all of its unique genres," remarked
Mary Rogers, M.Ed., and founder of Abrakadoodle. "Our
students benefit from expertly crafted programs that
engage children's imaginations and guide them in active
discovery creation."
